The Nature Explore Classroom at
The Friendship School
The Friendship School is fortunate to have a dedicated custodial group keeping the Nature Explore Classroom beautifully maintained by mowing, pruning and augmenting all the areas and adding to the wood chipped areas and sandbox as needed.
A scheduled spring cleanup for the garden was posted in the school newsletter and 35 parents have already signed up, wishing to help.
All areas continue to be delineated by brick lined walkways, large low planters, areas of grass and woodchips, fencing and simple signs. A library was added this year, housed in an adjoining garden storage closet, and a reading space was developed inside the gazebo. A table and stumps were added which serve as a place where teachers may give instruction and also where students may sit and color and draw. The Building Area was moved and now is found under a shade providing pergola. Annual and perennial beds continue to provide the Nature Explore Classroom with color, interest and activities.
